Doamne, cum toarce...

I miss my grandpa's Dacia so much....he is 90 years old now but still remembers the day he went to take it from the factory. He chose one from a big batch made for export to RDG that was rejected due to quality issues but it served him well for many many years.

Having driven a Dacia 1300 as my first car (as many Romanians have until the 2000s), I have to say this video is bringing a smile on my face. The car has been restored the proper way, it looks very well and it is now a part of history. The owner is definitely passionate about it and he should be proud about what he achieved. I do see cars like this one on the road even to this day, some in a good enough shape.

Sadly I never got an Evo Sport, but I was lucky enough to get hold of an early standard one in Diamond Black, then by lucky chance stumbled upon a genuine UK Evo 1 in Alpine White. It looked like a standard one but had an 'E' stamped on the cylinder head with much larger exhaust headers. Book power was quoted the same as my black one, but she felt just that little bit more eager. I miss them both.

Uau! nemaipomenit, minunat! tata a avut o Dacia din 72, Verde 57 (stiati ca pe atunci primeai cu masina si o cutie de vopsea originala, cam de 30ml?) carburator Solex, frana de mana sub bord, tampoane mari, sigla mare...cine stie poate adauga la lista mea...as vrea acum sa o mai pot conduce...am condus-o prin 96 cand era intr-o stare acceptabila...inca...si apoi repede nu a mai putut fi condusa, lipsa banilor a tras-o pe dreapta definitiv si a ajuns la fiare vechi...si cred ca am doar cateva poze alb negru cu ea...

I had the same model, made in 1980 and i used it as my daily driver from 2010 until 2016. I upgraded it with a five gear gearbox, a brake booster from a later model and a LPG sistem. In 2010 I drove it from Romania to Paris, France and back ( around 6000 km ) without any problem.
